Devoré a cada uno,
lenta, saboreando su miedo.
Sus gritos amenizaron la cena.
Pobres criaturas sin alas,
sólo un par de piernas y brazos.
¿Qué pueden hacer con eso?

Me miraban consumidos por el terror.
Todos ellos suplicaron, me adularon.
Inútilmente decían mi nombre en sus plegarias.

Su gusto era amargo,
los comí de cualquier forma.
No esperaba encontrar más que carne,
angustia y desesperación.

Pero, al final estaba ella,
con ojos gigantes, observándome
mientras devoraba a su hermano.
Sin miedo, sin pánico,
sólo regocijo al mirar caer los huesos hechos trizas.

La dejé vivir.
Sospecho que puede ser una de mi clase,
que pronto sus extremidades serán seis.
Todas funcionales, todas hermosas.

Y sus alas, ahora ocultas por los élitros,
en poco tiempo le permitirán unirse al resto
para devorar juntas otros universos.

I devoured them all,
slowly, savoring their fear.
Their screams brightened the meal.
Poor creatures with no wings,
just a pair of legs and arms.
What can they do with that?

They stared at me consumed by terror.
All of them begged, flattered me.
In vain they spoke my name in their prayers.

They tasted bitter,
but I ate them anyway.
I expected nothing more than flesh,
anguish and despair.

But, in the end there was her,
with giant eyes, watching me
as I devoured her brother.
No fear, no panic,
only joy at watching the shattered bones fall.

I let her live.
I suspect she might be one of my kind,
that soon she’ll have six limbs,
all functional, all beautiful.

And her wings, now hidden beneath the elytra,
will soon allow her to join the rest
to devour together other universes
